The George Washington University Hospital is located in downtown Washington, DC. We are situated in Northwest Washington near the George Washington University campus, approximately 6 blocks from the White House. This location makes the patient population of our hospital unique, ranging from the local residents of DC to politicians to visiting dignitaries from many nations. Our location has garnished some important history, especially when Ronald Reagan was taken to the George Washington University Hospital on March 30th, 1981 following an attempted assasination. He underwent emergency surgery here for his gunshot wound.
